Another week, another several million cups of tea! I’ve been loving apple and cinnamon lately!
This last week has been pretty dynamic! The early week saw lots of practice, a new song! And a bit of business stuff! I’m determined to not let the business side of things get in the way of my practice time too much though. So far so good!
On Thursday I played for a hundred or so people at a 5:30am radio breakfast. It’s by far my earliest ever gig, but inspired me to get up earlier! I played over a quiet lunch the same day, both at Brookfield Vineyard.
Tonight I’ll be playing throughout the evening for a 100+ people at a business function. So once I’m finished here at HQ I’ll be heading home to get my gear ready then head there to setup. This is my first time playing at a corporate event so I’m determined to nail it!
Tomorrow I’m playing from 12-2pm at The Village Cafe, and on Sunday I have a new coffee shop to add to the line up:D
A couple of days ago I applied to play on the APRA stage at The Falls Festival, and was called today saying I definitely had a spot:) The Falls Festival is the largest music festival in my state. The ARPA stage is the indie of the indie stages, but I have a lot of friends going so I’m pretty confident it’l still be awesome:D Either way it’s a good opportunity to get my music out there:) I’ll release some times once I know myself, probably in early December!
I’m just listening to a young singer songwriter named Gretel. She’s amazing!
My calendar is starting to fill up with shows until the end of the year which is cool! I do really enjoy playing in front of people, but I also love just practicing and working on developing new techniques and songs!
Upcoming gig list:
Thursday 3rd - Brookfield 11- 2pm
Friday 4th - Brookfield open mic 7pm
Saturday 5th - fundraiser event 6:30pm also at Brookfield:P
I’m pretty much the artist in residence!
Tuesday 8th - Hobart FM
Sunday 13th - AUSTRALIA’S GOT TALENT AUDITIONS:D
Tuesday 15th - Irish Murphys TSPN 8pm
Wednesday 16th - Focus gig
Friday 18th - open mic competition
Sunday 20th - markets, support for an album launch
And every weekend I’m usually playing over coffee:)
I think early next year I’d like to fly to the mainland and do a few gigs, but at the moment I’m just wanting to practice and write songs:D
There will be a few website updates coming soon! That’s if I can remember any CSS! And I’m getting things in order for some more YouTubes, and guitar tabs as well!
If you’ve been following my previous few posts you’ll know that I’ve made posters to put around the place, and also a decorative piece for my guitar headstock:) I’m a bit of a purist when it comes to modifying guitars, but I do really like when someone has turned their guitar into a visual diary of the places and people they’ve seen!
I better be off! Places to see! Songs to do!
Much love and music from the Gone AWOL headquarters!
Alan
